When I was a sophomore in high school, I suffered a major knee injury which required Posterolateral Corner (PLC) Reconstruction, a repair to the LCL that I felt would change my life forever. I was on crutches at the height of a great basketball season which was absolutely devastating. With a lot of positive self-talk, and motivation to return back to sports, I spent most of my time in physical therapy trying to get back to my normal self, and was able to fully recover and return to sports my 11th grade year. I’m now a sophomore in college, and I can say that the injury and recovery taught me a lot about pain and endurance. First to appreciate what is given to you and secondly that a challenge can be overcome with hard work and dedication.
